Whenever I cross the Kvarner I like to stop by Galjola – if the weather allows it. Last few times it didn’t. But these photos show, that it can be a very nice experience. Small island with a lighthouse and pebble beach.

Nautic tips: wach out for shallow waters on SW and NE side – do not go to close, but at the same time, on these spots is where you can drop anchor if you wish.

It has been a while, since I've written something here. I visited Tribunj and i loved the little town on the small island, wich is connected to mainland with a stone bridge. I just loved the marina, because there is crystal clear water and very close to the town. But it's a bit pricy.

If you are ever at anchor in southern bay on island Zirje, you have to climb up a small hill and see the Roman ruins. And it is a great wiew overlooking the bay and boats at anchor.

The most western point of Croatia and the former Yugoslavia is the Savudria lighthouse, built in 1818, when it was commissioned by the Austrian emperor Franz I. The antennas for the mobile phones and the IR sensors are of a later date, of course. And, judging by the clothelines, it is still populated.

Also, the Savidria autocamp seems to have expanded all the way to the lighthouse. It is really well maintained, with nice plots and garvel pathways. It must be nice to look at the beam at night….

There is still a mass of tourists at Zlatni Rat at the end of September enjoying the magnificent beach and sun.

We enjoyed even more anchoring on the east part of the cape. Mild east wind turned our stern towards the beach and we jumped into turquoise sea.

We swam to the beach and had a beer which was, given the location not as expensive as one would expect. 20 kn for a cold pint.

I've been in Korcula many times, but only during summer time, when it's very crowded. This time we visited in April and I loved it. Everything was almost empty, no people untherneaththe the pine trees or on the famous tower staircase. A whole new picture for me!

There is only one bad thing about tourists not overcorwding Korcula: restaurants are closed, there is hardly any place, you can get anything to eat. We settled for pizza at the top of the town by the cathedral. Pizza was OK, but they obviously didn't clean the beer pipes for a while, becasue it wasn't too tasty.
